For this self-portrait, I was given creative freedom, however, I had to incorporate at least three things into the portrait that represented something about me (other than my face). First, I chose a picture of myself with a pose that I thought represented my personality. I used it as my reference and began working. I started out with figuring out how I could incorporate the three things that represent me. I had to ask myself what was important to me and what stands out, or what I think stands out, to people I know. I tried to picture myself in my friends’ eyes and choose what stood out. Ultimately, I decided that the three things I would include would be my love of music, my charismatic personality, and my creative style. To make my love of music known, I drew a pair of headphones on my head with cartoon music particles floating around. I chose music because I grew up a musician, and having those abilities created a deeply rooted passion in me. That was the easiest trait to figure out. To represent my personality, I made the irises of my eyes have stars for my “starry-eyed” mentality.  And for my creative style, I incorporated fun colors and a cartoon-like take on my portrait.
